A Fine Victorian Mahogany Wine Table with Carved Base and Fluted Column. Circa 1870.

Description

This excellent mahogany wine table has a drum top, fluted and tapered pedestal with well carved base standing on claw feet with hidden casters.

This is a beautiful little table and the advantage it has over nearly all it's competitors in the wine table stakes is that it is difficult to knock over! So many wine tables seem designed to be pitched in every direction by passing dogs, owners and puffs of wind, this one has a suitably solid and well designed base to be almost impervious to the accidental disaster!

Whether used as a wine table or reading table with lamp, etc, etc, it's stability is paramount. The table is in beautiful condition and is proportionally 'right'.

Excellent colour and good finish.

This good antique combines aesthetic quality with endless practicality and a very good look.
