Gents 1940s Jenco Hand Winding Wrist Watch

Description

A vintage gents 1940s Jenco hand winding wrist watch.

The hand-winding movement is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one minute over a 24 hour period. The jewelled movement is stamped Jenco Watch Co, Seventeen 17 Jewels, Unadjusted, Swiss.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The chrome plated case has some wear and pitting commensurate with its age but overall it has a good vintage look. The screw on case back is stamped Jenco, stainless steel back, no-magnetic, Swiss and waterproof although, as with any vintage watch, I would not rely on it being waterproof.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Jenco, waterproof, shockproof with Swiss made at the bottom. The dial has light surface marking although acceptable for a 1940s piece. It has a great vintage look with original hands, centre seconds hand and an outer minute track.

The watch has a new black leather strap.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
