Rare Antique Silver Plated Double Wine / Champagne Coaster Cart By Maple, London C.1890

My silversmith has meticulously dismounted this wonderful and unusual double tabletop Coaster in the form of a cart. It needed professional cleaning, the woods were dry and required wax polishing, it now looks quite wonderful.
 
The wheels turn when the cart is pulled along the centre of the table, the kind of Novelty the Victorians simply loved. Perfect for wine, champagne or decanters (the aperture measuring 4 3/4'' in diameter).
 
Each of the coasters unscrews for easy cleaning, each marked Maple and the underside of the carriage is marked Maple London, dating it to around 1890.
 
Superb condition, measuring 15 3/4'' in length including the handle x 6 1/2'' wide.
