The upper central section again with stunning quality inlaid panelled doors opening to reveal mahogany shelves and slides. The open central section having unusual bevelled mirrored "secret" doors which operate on a spring mechanism, opening to reveal a velvet lined hidden jewellery cabinet and having three mahogany lined storage drawers again with Classical inlaid detail. The shaped bevelled mirrored end doors opening to reveal shelved and hanging interiors, the right hand section also having a large bonnet drawer. The accompanying dressing table having an oval adjustable mirrored back supported on beautifully inlaid mahogany supports with turned Adam style finials. The serpentine shaped solid mahogany top above three further mahogany lined drawers, raised on square tapering supports with spade feet and brass and porcelain castors united by a serpentine shaped solid mahogany under tier. The bedside cabinet having a solid mahogany top and shaped galleried back with a marquetry inlaid panelled door, opening to reveal a shelved interior and raised on square tapering supports with spade feet. The double bed once more profusely inlaid with stunning marquetry and penwork inlaid urns, swags and ribbons. The headboard with a domed and dentil moulded cornice, the footboard having an acanthus carved crest and also beautifully inlaid with exotic woods in the Classical style. Almost certainly commissioned by the owners of Seggie House although un-marked was almost certainly made by one of the premier cabinet makers of the time such as Gillows, Maple & Co or Shoolbred of London. English circa 1890-1900

Condition: This bedroom suite is in stunning original condition please note the side rails on the double bed have been replaced at some time and replaced possibly to accommodate a larger mattress. Please note due to height restrictions in our showroom the wardrobe has been photographed without the four beautifully turned mahogany finials which sit on top of the cornice, adding even more splendour to this magnificent bedroom suite.
