Stunning antique Empire style Chaise Longue dating from around the mid-19th century, or even earlier. This piece has a wonderful shape & is quite a rare item to find. It's the sort of thing you would find in Kings Road for about £7500 plus. Naturally, I would love to get that sort of money, but I have to be realistic, so as usual I will be happy to move it on fast like anything else I get. The frame is mahogany, with some lovely neoclassical mouldings & sabre legs. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate this piece. We bought this item over from Sweden, so I presume it's Swedish. It has been fully restored, polished & re-upholstered in a Swedish Linen fabric. The back does look a bit rough, but at least you can see it's original from that view. They normally sit against a wall, but I suppose one could have the back covered in fabric so it could sit away from the wall.
