Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.

The crystal is beautifully cut, just sensational quality. The silver plated lid reveals the full maker's mark on the underside for one of the best silversmith's, James Dixon and Sons. It is also marked EPGS for Electro-Plated German Silver. This doesn't mean it is from Germany, it is simply another name for Nickel Silver, referring to it's heritage, developed first in Saxe-Meiningen, Germany, in 1824, hence its other name as German Silver.

A wonderful piece in pristine condition. 5" in diameter; 4" lid diameter; 6 1/2" tall to collar, 8 1/4" tall to top of handle while upright. Dates to the late Victorian era, around 1900.
