A fine 19th century gilt-framed overmantel of small to medium proportions. The frame is comprised of floral decorative motifs to each of the four edges, with raised corner motifs to the top. It retains its original mercury glass of great character and depth, and the backing boards are also original. It can also double up as a general purpose wall-hanging mirror. French, c.1825 – c.1850.
