Antique 1910 Omega Pocket Watch & Chain

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique Omega pocket watch originally retailed by J B Yabsley of Ludgate Hill, London (watch and clockmaker, and jeweller).

The Omega movement is stem-winding and it is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one minute over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The nickel case has some light marks and some gentle unevenness to the hinged case back but overall the condition is very acceptable for a watch from the 1910s. The inside of the outer back cover has the Omega mark and the serial number 3,415,183 which dates it back to around 1910.

The watch glass has some reasonably light marks across it, but is very acceptable.

The enamel dial is signed J B Yabsley, London, Swiss Made. There are some hairline cracks, mainly towards the edge of the dial. Rose gold coloured hands and sub seconds hand.

The watch comes with a white metal albert or chain with an 1846 Hungarian coin and a 7-thread tassel.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

Credit / debit card purchases up to £300 can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the 'Purchase Antique' button on each listing page. Alternatively, there is a Paypal payment link if you scroll down the page and we also accept bank transfers.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
