Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Heald was recorded as working from 1840 - 1875.

It also has its original gilt bright cut hands and working date indicator, working original lock and winding key.
The case is of fiddleback mahogany which has a wonderful deep colour and patina and the grain really does shine through.

It runs dor 8 days and is accurate to 15 seconds per day.

It is 7ft 1 inch high, 20 inches wide and 10 inches deep.
