This FINE SATINWOOD, ROSEWOOD AND WALNUT INLAID PIER CABINET dates from circa 1860.
The CABINET is decorated with ORMOLU MOUNTS and has HANDPAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUES at either end. With projecting pillars and decorative inlays to the corners and frieze the CABINET has a fine BURR WALNUT top.
The CABINET has a single glazed door enclosing two fixed shelves which are finished with walnut veneer and line inlay. It has a blue velvet lining which appears to be original.
The condition of the PIER CABINET is very good and original. It even comes with a working key.
The visual appearance of the CABINET is very striking which has been achieved through the clever contrast of the ROSEWOOD and SATINWOOD veneers, the high quality workmanship and the use of the decorative features of the pillars, the ormolu and the porcelain panels.
