Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The top of the tray is lucky enough to have a (highly sought-after) English design registration diamond shaped lozenge. The letter which gives us the year is rather hard to read but the format dates the piece accurately between 1868 and 1883.

There are two Champagne bottles, one engraved Pepper (with a screw top) and the other Cayenne (encasing the Cayenne Pepper spoon). The two other pieces are a Champagne glass (which is the open salt) and a lidded pitcher or jug with a figural spout).
A highly collectible gem in an excellent and complete condition. Stands 6 1/4! to the top of the two Champagne bottles.
