Gents Vintage 1950 Longines Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gent's 1950 Longines wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 23ZS, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Longines Watch Co, Swiss, 17 Jewels and it has the serial number 8,168,696 which dates it back to 1950.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and there are some marks but overall the condition is very acceptable for a 1950 piece. The inside of the snap-on case back has the Longines name and logo. The winding crown is possibly later as it does not have the Longines logo.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial, signed Longines, has a good vintage look with feuille shaped hands, centre seconds and an outer minute track.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
