A Mahogany Victorian Period Secretaire Wellington Chest

Description

A mahogany Victorian Period secretaire wellington chest. Having a rectangular mahogany top in beautifully figured mahogany above an arrangement of six graduating mahogany lined drawers, each retaining their original turned mahogany drawer pulls. One of the drawers acts as a "double" drawer front which opens to reveal a secretaire writing interior with birds eye maple drawers and a red leather writing surface. The drawers flanked by traditional pilasters with carved corbels, the right hand pilaster opening to to release the drawers in the traditional "Wellington" chest format and retaining the original key. The whole supported on a stepped mahogany veneered plinth. English circa 1860-1870

Dimensions: 49" high x 22" wide x 15.5" deep

Condition: This wellington chest is in superb original condition, cleaned and waxed
