The shell shaped box when opened reveals a splendid two compartment box each with a pierced grill that clips closed and slide through the centre and sit upright when fully opened, creating a double dish, and the interior of the shells beautifully gilded.

Dating to around 1890, this wonderful piece is made by the Birmingham silversmith, Daniel & Arter. Also marked EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.
Excellent condition, The footprint measuring 8" wide x 5 1/2" deep and stands 10" tall. While open, the shells span 12 3/4".
