Unusual Antique English Biscuit Box by John Round C.1890

Description

A really fabulous late Victorian biscuit box or barrel dating to the late Victorian period, around 1890.

The hand blown crystal jar is beautifully decorated with swirls of fluted glass and cut glass, beautiful quality, very tactile and in lovely undamaged condition.

The silver plated stand is very unusual too, standing on four highly decorative fluted bun feet. The underside is fully marked for John Round & Sons of Sheffield.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 1/2" foot to foot standing 5 1/2" to top of glass or 8 1/2" to top of handle while upright.
