Lovely Antique Silver And IVory Cake Slice - Barnard 1878

A lovely ornate solid sterling silver cake slice by the illustrious silversmith family of Barnard.
The slice is clearly hallmarked on the base, with the assay office mark for London 1878 and the maker''s mark of Walter & John Barnard.
As one would expect, the silver work is gorgeous, crisp and detailed.
The overall length is 33cm and the silver portion of that length is 20.5cm. The slice is heavy at approx. 210g. The ivory handle appears to have cracks down either side - these are in fact the original growth lines on the ivory which have darkened with age. They are smooth to the touch.
Post and packaging are free within the UK via Royal Mail special delivery. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs. Thank you.
