Description

A superb French amethyst glass newel post finial, late 19th Century, of spherical facet cut form with a flatenned top and brass mount.

20cm high

Condition: various surface chips and scuffing, the brass mount has a cut out section at the base where it would have been attached to a staircase (see photograph).

Hand of Glory has dated this piece to the 1880s.
