Georgian Inlaid Mahogany 8 Day Longcase Clock, J.o. Ingram, Cardiff, 1824

Description

A George III Inlaid Mahogany 8 Day Longcase Clock by J.O. Ingram of Cardiff, the arch top dial with Roman numerals, painted with a named view of Cardiff Castle with hunting dogs at the bottom corners and signed and dated bottom right '29.4.24', with subsidiary seconds dial, calendar aperture and eight day movement striking on a bell. The hood with brass eagle and ball finials and flanked by barley twist columns, the boxwood and ebony inlaid trunk with conforming barley twist columns. With key, weights and pendulum.

218cm high max x 37cm wide at the trunk

James Oliver Ingram is recorded as working is Cardiff from the 1820s-1860s.

In working condition, the case is in good condition overall with some small areas of veneer loss and chipping. I could arrange to have these repaired at cost if needed.
