Sheraton Satinwood "Bonheur Du Jour"

Description

A fine quality late 18th century Sheraton period BONHEUR DU JOUR or Drawing Room Writing Desk.

Veneered in beautifully figured finest quality West Indian satinwood and cross-banded throughout, the upper section features twin (locking) cupboards flanking the concave section shelves and three small concave drawers.

Below is a long bow-fronted drawer which features a baize-lined sliding writing surface, and it is supported on good inlaid tapering legs surmounted by attracted shaped figured satinwood panels at the top of each. All locks are original and with working keys.

A pretty and useful Drawing Room Writing Table. 36ins (91cms) wide.
