The solid rosewood bowed frieze drawer stamped Gillows with design number 16315. The drawer with finely cast vine and leaf handles and escutcheons, having bowed ends and with a dummy drawer to the reverse, also with finely cast ormolu hardware. Supported on bold solid rosewood cabriole supports with finely cast rams head ormolu mounts and feet. English in the French Style circa 1870

Condition: This desk is stunning quality throughout as you would expect from the premier English cabinet makers Gillows Of Lancaster. Wear to the leather commensurate with age and use. This desk is in Country house condition
