Description

An English giltwood cartel wall clock. The original gilt finish to the case surmounted by a vase with draped carved swags. A cast brass bezel to the convex 5 1/2" painted dial with blued steel hands. An 8-day duration timepiece mechanism with platform escapement. Clockmakers paper label to the case back marked 'Matthews & Sons, Ripon & Knaresboro'. Circa 1910.
