An excellent example of a 19th century three-door wardrobe in mahogany. The straight-moulded protruding cornice surmounts a useful storage interior comprised of full-height hanging to the left and a small fitted linen press to the right. There are three deep solid-ash-lined drawers at low level and a plain plinth base support. The backing boards, the central mirror plate, and all the turned knob handles are original, and there are working sprung catches to the doors. This beautiful wardrobe – so pleasing for being of plain understated design – is English, c.1850 – c.1875.
