A Stunning Silver Mounted Cranberry Biscuit Barrel.

Description

A stunning silver mounted biscuit barrel. This wonderful example has a flashed cranberry body, with cut through decoration and a star base. The silver rim, handle and lid are all hallmarked and to the front of the lid is an attractive armorial with the motto 'Floresco Favente Deo'.

Condition :- Excellent, with no cracks or chips to the glass and no dents or splits to the silver. There are a number of pinpricks near to the hallmarks (shown in photo), commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear readable and matching.

Maker :- William Hutton & Sons.

Date :- Sheffield 1922.

Height :- 24 cms. (handle up).

15.5 cms. (handle down).

Diameter :- 16 cms. (widest point).
