Consequently it doesn't look as good as it should. This bookcase has many wonderful features & I will try to list a few. I suppose it's Chippendale in style. The top cornice has a very detailed Greek key moulding. The three doors have fine astral-glazing & adjustable shelves inside. The bottom section has two flame mahogany drawers & two cupboards with flame mahogany panels that have some intricate carvings on the corners. The top of the base section has a carved edge & the drawers have original brass handles. This all sits on very bold legs with more good carvings plus ball & claw feet. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate all the fine details. This bookcase comes apart into two sections for easy transportation. One more thing I just noticed, is that it has the old metal 'Maple & Co' label inside one of the doors, which is always a sign of quality, because the old Maples store only sold items of top quality.
