Fabulous Pair English Regency Face Screens C.1820

Description

An absolutely stunning pair of Regency face screens, an important accessory for every smart home during the period, to prevent the waxy cosmetics from melting in front of the open fires.

Most unusual with the exquisite finely beaded floral tapestry to the front, each bead sewn in by hand, creating quite a work of art

What else makes these most unusual are the intact original silk tassels and the underside each having an original mirror surrounding by green silk taffeta.

The handles are carved wood and gilded, both in great condition.

Excellent condition, the screens have a diameter measuring 8 1/2" in diameter and measure 16 1/4" in length.
