Description

This large walnut open bookcase is very impressive & fabulous quality. The front section is well figured burr walnut, which sits on a solid walnut carved base & carved hairy paw feet. The sides too have burr walnut panels & the front edges are chamfered. This bookcase has adjustable shelves & the drawers have original handles & locks. It also has many other nice features. It's very well constructed & the drawers have good dovetails. I'm not sure where it was made, but it does look continental, possible Dutch & I would say it dates from around the 1890-1910 period. We have given it an over-polish, so it still has the original colour & it also has lots of character. It's very heavy & it in one piece, so please make sure it will go into the space you want it for.
