A Rare Walnut Arts & Crafts Period Side Table by Ernest Gimson

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare walnut Arts & Crafts Period two drawer side table by Ernest Gimson. Having a rectangular solid walnut top with exposed walnut dowels. The top above twin rectangular frieze drawers each with beautiful quarter sawn oak linings, finely cut dovetails and beautifully figured walnut drawers fronts. The drawers with typical brass Gimson handmade handles, the whole supported on simple square supports with H stretchers and having chamfered corners and exposed tenon construction. English circa 1910-1915

Dimensions: 36" wide x 21" deep x 30" high

The handles on this side table are of typical Gimson design and appear on many items of furniture in the excellent books "Gimson and the Barnsleys" By Mary Greensted and "Good Citizens Furniture" By Annette Carruthers and Mary Greensted

Condition: This table is in excellent condition, re-polished in our workshops.
