Gentleman's Library Desk-top Barometer

Description

An unusual and good quality mid/late 19th century "Gentleman's" LIBRARY DESK-TOP BAROMETER in perfect working order.

Contained in its original Bird's Eye maple and ebony box, the lockable lid opens to reveal the (removable) aneroid barometer, with a finely engraved and silvered dial, and complete with 'horseshoe-shaped' thermometer.

Signed to the dial: C.W.Dixey, Optician to the Queen, 3 New Bond Street, London and numbered 1019.
