Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Both case and movement are in particularly good "untouched" condition, the case with its original patina and featuring cast brass carrying handle to the brass-edged pad top; brass moulding to the front door; finely cast bezel; good 'fishscale' frets to front and sides and original brass ball feet.

The 8-day movement, strikes hours on a bell, with the signature engraved on the backplate within its nicely engraved border, and complete with its finely-adjustable pendulum with matching engraving to the bob. The painted convex dial is original as are the good pierced blued steel hands.

It comes with an old, possibly not original, solid mahogany bracket.
A handsome "London" bracket clock with fine mouldings , and a pleasure to find one so untouched. 15.5ins high (39cms) high excluding the handle.
