A Mahogany George III Period Bureau Bookcase

18th century
Description

A mahogany George III Period "estate" bureau bookcase. The upper section with a shaped cornice above twin mahogany panelled doors, opening to reveal an oak lined shelved and pigeon hole interior. The lower bureau section with a sloping fall front which opens to reveal a well fitted interior with a baize lined writing surface, above an arrangement of four graduating oak lined drawers each retaining their original pierced back plate brass swan neck handles. Supported on the original shaped bracket feet, of wonderful colour and patination. English circa 1760-1770

Dimensions: 83.5" high x 39" wide x 23" deep

Condition: This bureau bookcase is in stunning original condition, wonderful colour and patina, cleaned and waxed. Working locks and key. Wear to baize commensurate with age and use.
