A very special tray made from English silver plate, dating to around 1880, late Victorian. Wonderful quality and condition, there is a full mark for the silversmith, Lee & Wigfull of Sheffield on the underside.
The tray has a wonderful pierced or reticulated gallery with engraved Ivy leaves echoed in the very grand engraved base with foliate garlands, beautifully decorated and an exceptional grand example.
Each of the long sides incorporates an integral oval vacant cartouche and the short sides have an oval cut-out handle surrounded by hand chasing.
A truly magnificent tray in fabulous condition, measuring 22'' x 16''.
