Description

A good and rare pair of oak open bookcases by Gillows of Lancaster. Each having a chamfered raised back with turned finials. Having solid quarter sawn oak tops above twin oak lined frieze drawers which are stamped by the maker Gillows of Lancaster. Each drawer with Gothic Revival brass handles. Each adjustable shelf having a hinged dust flap with boxwood beaded detail. The solid oak sides with cut out recesses to allow for Victorian skirting boards. English circa 1880

Dimensions: 56" wide x 64" high x 16" deep (shelves 13" deep)

Condition: This pair of bookcases are in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed
