Brass Inlaid English Regency Tea Caddy C.1820

Description

A handsome antique English Rosewood tea caddy dating to the Regency era, around 1820.

The caddy is inlaid all around with brass stringing and the top crowned with a stunning foliate brass inlay , engraved including a central family crest flanked either side with the initials h & b.

The lid opens to reveal an unusual configuration with a single lidded compartment and the glass mixing or sugar bowl.

Excellent condition, the footprint measuring 10" x 5 1/2", the lid measuring 11" x 6", standing 7" tall.
