Antique First Period Tunbridge White Wood Card Box C.1810

Description

A fabulous and lovely early painted Tunbridge Ware playing card / games box dating anywhere between 1790 to 1810, the first period of Tunbridge ware.

The interior of the box retains it's original pink paper lining, typical of this era. One of the packs of cards is a period pack (Victorian) and is complete; the other pack is a modern set to complete the box. The centre has a selection of little shell counters, a dice shaker and small dice and a later novelty miniature pack of cards, these items came with the box so I have left them intact.

Excellent condition measuring 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/8".
