A Fine Regency Rosewood Bow Stick Barometer

Description

HARRISON & Son of HOLBORN**: a splendid early 19th century Regency period rosewood STICK BAROMETER in excellent condition and full working order.

Below the attractive carved pediment and behind the bow-front glass, the silvered register plates are well engraved with the scales and signature of the maker. The case is of beautifully figured solid rosewood, with a particularly attractive base/cistern cover.

** William HARRIS & Co., are recorded as working at 47, High Holborn (later at No. 50) from 1799 until about 1848. See Goodison page 329.
