Antique Longcase Grandfather Clock Batchelor Brixton

Description

proportioned London area oak longcase clock. An arched pediment with decorative carved detailing and 3 original wooden and brass finials. Brass capped side hood columns. An arched trunk door. An attractive arched painted dial with floral decorations to a blue background. A seconds dial and blued steel 'moon' hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

The dial is signed 'G Batchelor, Brixton' (South London)and the clock dates to circa 1840.

Height 7ft 4" / 223 cms
