Description

This striking REGENCY INLAID MAHOGANY CARD TABLE dates from circa 1820.

The top of the TABLE has a FLAME MAHOGANY panel, edged by a small ROSEWOOD band which is flanked with FIDDLE-BACK MAHOGANY cross banding.

FIDDLE-BACK veneers have been chosen to decorate the frieze, interspersed with panels of decorative stylised ANTHEMION inlay, after the GREEK, reflecting the REGENCY fashion.

The CARD TABLE is supported on four splay legs which have inlay to their tops and are finished with their ORIGINAL attractive REGENCY BRASS CASTORS, again with ANTHEMION detail.

The piece is original throughout and in good order.

When opened the top measures 3 feet square (91.5 cm square).
