Art Deco 1.00 Carat Fancy Cut Garnet Ring, Circa 1920

Description

A really unusually cut garnet in this smashing little Art Deco ring. Nine facets on the table (i.e., the top) of the stone cut in such a way to suggest a star. A gorgeous clash of styles in evidence here: the ornately pierced platinum shoulders each set with a small rose cut diamond; the extremely delicate 18k gold bands; the robust and geometric double gallery holding the gem. Exceptional design and workmanship.

Cut - Fancy Square cut.

Colour - Deep red.

Carat - Approximately 1.00 carat.

Condition - Some rubbing to the inside of the band, but otherwise in fine condition.

Circa - 1920.

Size - Currently K 1/2 (UK) or 5 3/8 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements - The top square measures 6mm by 6mm and sits 4mm from the finger.

Metal - The band is in 18k yellow gold. 18CT is still faintly legible inside the band. The shoulders are platinum.
