~Lion rugissant sur un rocher after T.F. Cartier~
~ French - Circa 1910 ~
~~ Excellent condition ~~
Lion is superb and very well sculpted, muscular and full of sinuous life and aggressive movement. We can not find a signature however the sculpture is after Cartier (Thomas François 1879 - 1943) who is a well listed French sculptor, see the Artprice database. Lion sits on a realistically modelled granite rock of cold painted metal which in turn sits on a beautiful green variegated specimen marble base.

The French movement is of high quality, it runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell and is complete with a new pendulum and bell. It has the clockmakers mark on the movement backplate. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and is in excellent working order. Click the movie on our website to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition is very good, the lion has some slight wear to the patination on the high spots. The rock has some minor wear and some touching in behind the lions hind leg. The marble base has an old repair to a crack which is not noticeable, see the pictures below. Dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. A stunning clock to add to your collection!

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required
