A wonderful and unusual Secretaire writing desk in mahogany. The desk is in the manner of Godwin with elements of his Japanese design influence and that of the Aesthetic movement. The panels are most unusually inlaid in green stained horn in a Japanese/Art Nouveau honeysuckle design. The whole has the air and quality of a Liberty''s piece. The secretaire is in superb condition and all original, even the inkwells and desk leather. C.1900.
