Gents 1950s Movado Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s Movado wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, signed Movado Factories, 17 Jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one minute over 24 hours.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is rose gold plated and there are some minor marks but overall the condition is good for a 1950s piece. The case back is stainless steel.

The lens has a 2mm crack at the edge but otherwise is in good condition.

The dial has the applied Movado logo, number markers and hands in a rose gold colour. There is also a date display - this is initially set by winding the hands forwards as the quick set date had not been invented in the 1950s. The dial is in its original finish and there is some age related discolouration.

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
