Pretty as a picture, this is a real shop-stopper of a card case made from Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with it's magical iridescent properties.

What of course makes this a very special example is the exquisite and very fine engraved decoration, just wonderful.

The case is without damage dating to around 1860, Victorian in era. 4" x 2".
