Inlaid Sheraton Demi-lune Card Table

Description

An excellent quality late 18th century Sheraton period DEMI LUNE CARD TABLE profusely inlaid throughout.

The top is inlaid with rosewood, satinwood and hardwood with tulipwood cross banding and a marquetry 'batswing' fan to the centre. It opens to reveal the baize-lined interior, whilst the frieze is similarly inlaid with satinwood "fans"; flame mahogany diamonds and rosewood banding, with further purpleheart and harewood inlays above each of the tapering legs which themselves are inlaid with boxwood and harewood reeding and terminating in spade feet.

A stunning, impressive and fine quality table; 36ins wide; 18ins deep (91.5 x 45cms)
