M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 1860s.
. Fitted with brass locks stamped with an 'H' with an arrow (probably Hobbs & Co. London) together with a single key which operates all. The replacement black leather inset writing panel an exact copy of the worn-out original, with 'blind' tooled edging and centre motif and thin gold line within. Of free-standing form with highly-figured inset panels to the reverse.

A well-proportioned practical desk with great decorative qualities. In excellent ready-to-use condition .
Divides into 3 parts in the traditional manner for ease of movement and transportation .
