Gents 1940s Ww2 Omega Watch, 23.4 T1

A gents early 1940s Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a 23.4 T1 hand-winding movement; the movement was first used in 1935 and was in production up until 1949. The movement is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is signed Omega Watch Co, Swiss, 17 Jewels and it has the serial number 9,182,976 which dates it back to around 1940.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs so it would suit a gent with a slimmer wrist, or it could be worn by a lady. The case is stainless steel. The front and sides are in good condition with just minor marking. There are some scratches to the back. The inside of the case back has the Omega triangular stamp. The winding crown is possibly a later replacement.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish; there is some discolouration and light marking but overall the condition is very acceptable for its age. Feuille shaped hands, subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.
