Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1750s.
Made from brass and hand-chased, all four corners are mounted with a Mother of Pearl panel. The top of the hinged lid is also inset with a nacre shell panel, beautifully engraved.
Excellent condition, measuring 2 1/2" x 2".
