Rare English Georgian Mahogany Tea Caddy in the Form of a House C.1810

Description

An outstanding and highly desirable antique English tea caddy dating to the early nineteenth century, around 1810.

In the form of a house, the front is built up with windows and a central front door with pillars. The double window above the door is hinged to conceal the escutcheon which houses the key; most unusual, charming and as good as they get.

The roof of the house lifts to reveal a single compartment caddy, the lid interior with it's original Burgundy coloured velvet.

Excellent condition and a must-have for the advanced collector.

5 1/4" x 4 3/4" x 7" tall to top of chimneys.
