This large double compartment tea caddy is covered in rich cognac coloured burr Walnut. The front is inlaid with a steamship sporting the British flag to the back. All sides have intricate Tunbridge inlay.

These Trinity House boxes were made by Lighthouse owners (often in the Portsmouth area of the UK) and sold to owners and Captains of the ships.
Dating to around 1870, Victorian in era, the box is in superb condition measuring 13" x 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" tall.
