1940s Gents Omega Bumper Automatic Watch

A vintage gents 1940s Omega automatic wrist watch.

The watch is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is within around one minute over a 24 hour period. The watch has a bumper automatic movement (the bumper automatic was made before the rotor automatic). As with most bumper automatics, you can feel the rotor moving around, which we quite like. The movement is signed Omega, 17 jewels, Swiss with the calibre number 28.10 RA SC PG and the serial number 10522709 which dates the watch to between 1944 and 1947.

The case measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel. The front and sides are in good condition with just light surface marks. The case back is stamped Omega Watch Co Swiss made and numbered 2438-1; it has some scratches, mainly around the outer edge where the back has been removed over the years.

The watch lens is in nice condition.

The two tone dial is signed Omega, Automatic, Swiss Made. The dial has been professionally refinished to a very high standard.

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.
