Description

This extremely finely-knotted rug was made by Afshar tribes in the area of Dehaj in Kerman Province, southern Persia, around 1900. The overall design involving vases of flowers with birds standing on either side of each vase, is known as the 'zili sultan' pattern. This amazing rug, with its superb colours which comprise varying shades of green, is in excellent condition.
